Andreas Lutz

Andreas Lutz explores in his works the human machine relation through universal communication systems. Within these boundaries, he analyzes and reveals phenomenons of perception versus reality and principles of abstract aesthetics with sculptures, installations and performances. The creation of experimental soundscapes and the relation of semiotics and sound are further aspects of his work.

Interdisciplinary artist with an extensive international career, whose works and performances have been presented at leading institutions and festivals such as the Venice Biennale, the National Art Center Tokyo, ZKM Karlsruhe, HeK Basel, Sónar+D, transmediale/CTM, and various biennials and digital art festivals around the world. His work has received numerous awards and distinctions, including an Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronica (2025), the Japan Media Arts Festival Excellence Award, the Edigma Semibreve Award, the Premio Celeste, and a Webby Award, as well as being a finalist for the Lumen Prize 2025. He is also the founder of KASUGA, an interdisciplinary studio and record label based in Berlin.
