Helena Hauff

Helena Hauff is a German DJ and producer based in Hamburg, widely recognized as one of the most forceful figures in contemporary techno and electro. Her music combines acid, EBM, industrial and post punk through a raw, minimalist sound built primarily with analog equipment.

Her career took shape during her residency at Golden Pudel, where she hosted the Birds and Other Instruments night. Since then, her vinyl sets have taken her to clubs and festivals including Berghain, Sónar and Dekmantel. In 2017, her BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix was named the best of the year.

Since her debut with Actio Reactio (2013), she has released works including Discreet Desires (2015) and Qualm (2018), and founded her own label, Return to Disorder. In 2025, she revived Black Sites, her project with F#X, to release R4 on Tresor Records, an album recorded to tape with minimal editing that reaffirms her commitment to the immediacy and imperfection of machines.
