Maya Shenfeld & Pedro Maia

Maya Shenfeld and Pedro Maia will present at MIRA 2024 Under the Sun, a live audiovisual show produced over the last two years between Berlin and one of the deepest marble quarries in the world, in the south of Portugal. Through a cycle of electro-acoustic pieces for analog synths, wind instruments, voice and field recordings, and footage shot under the scorching sun of the hottest summer on record, Shenfeld and Maia explore change and repetition, deep time and fleeting moment, balance and imminent threat. Transcending the boundaries of Super 8 film and drones, Maia’s analog film processing dialogues with Shenfeld’s layered textural compositions to create a radiant and enveloping live audiovisual experience.
