“Every person exists as both an ancestor and a successor.” In “Elektra,” Metahaven creates a parable about the planetary dome in which the movie will be projected. The dome’s semi-sphere enables a different kind of seeing, because the eye is met by tableaux to roam and dive into. This piece is Metahaven’s first work for a planetarium, and marks a cycle continuing from their previous film “Information Skies” and “Hometown”. “Elektra” is a cinematic merger of animation and live action that reflects on childhood and the past in the present, a visual essay on nodes and nets. With specially composed music by Kara-Lis Coverdale .
“Elektra” is part of the “The New Infinity” programme, co-produced with Berliner Festspiele / Immersion and the Hamburg Planetarium for the MIRA Dome by adidas Originals.
