Nosaj Thing

Nosaj Thing, the project of Los Angeles producer and composer Jason Chung, is one of the most distinctive figures in North American experimental electronic music. His work combines instrumental hip hop, ethereal synthesizers, ambient and sound design, with influences ranging from Boards of Canada and DJ Shadow to Danny Elfman and Erik Satie.

After exploring drum and bass, rave culture and beat programming during his teenage years, he found a space to develop his language within the experimental scenes surrounding The Smell and Low End Theory. There, he connected with artists including Flying Lotus, Daedelus and Nobody, making his live debut in 2004.

Since his first EP, Views/Octopus (2006), he has built a constantly evolving discography that includes albums such as Drift, Home, Fated, Parallels and Continua. Alongside his solo work, he has produced and collaborated with artists including Kid Cudi, Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper, Toro y Moi and Kazu Makino, expanding a practice that also embraces audiovisual performance, installations and the relationship between sound, image and technology.
