Hydroscope
Born out of a research and experimentation process initiated in 2015, the work explores the relationship between two seemingly antagonistic materials: water and electricity. Based on trial and error, the process has unfolded through various versions and installations until reaching its current form.
Six metal modules connect hydraulic systems, transducers and light sources to turn sound vibrations into visible movement. Low-frequency oscillations, inaudible to the human ear, act on five horizontal water jets and continuously transform their shape, so that small variations can produce results that are difficult to predict.
Hydroscope starts from a physical phenomenon that invites us to observe how sound can transform our perception of movement and matter, constructing an experience that is difficult to decipher at first glance.
