MIRA 2019 ¤ MIRA DOME BY ADIDAS ORIGINALS

23.10.2019

The programme of the 360º dome dedicated to immersive projects in fulldome format, co-produced together with Eyesberg Studio, will feature 6 video art pieces that will be screened during the festival in Fabra i Coats on 7, 8, 9 November.

JORDI MASSO & DRONE CLUB present SMARTZOMBIES

Humanity is rapidly losing its real identity in exchange for virtuality. People are hiding behind social networks with usernames and images that are a manipulated version of our own reality. Work, entertainment, information, friendship, love… Practically everything is managed from a mobile phone on which our lives seem to depend. “Smartzombies” by Jordi Massó (visuals) and Drone Club (music) is a story set in a not too distant future, in which mobile phones have transformed our everyday lives and become indispensable in carrying out even the most quotidian of actions, as those who develop them seek to make us even less human and transform us into technology-dependent zombies.

METAHAVEN presents ELEKTRA

Elektra, by the Metahaven design studio with specially composed music by Kara-Lis Coverdale, is a mixture of animation and live action that reflects on childhood and the past in the present. The piece is part of the “The New Infinity” programme, co-produced with Berliner Festspiele / Immersion and the Hamburg Planetarium.

ROBERT LIPPOK and LUCAS GUTIERREZ present NON-FACE

The aim of sound artist Robert Lippok and digital artist Lucas Gutiérrez has been to create a piece in which to make the sonic and visual limits tangible, playing with impossible objects and virtual geometries. Non-Face is part of the “The New Infinity” programme, co-produced with Berliner Festspiele / Immersion and the Hamburg Planetarium.

AGNIESKA POLSKA presents THE HAPPIEST THOUGHT

Agnieszka Polska’s first fulldome piece. Her visual essay “The Happiest Thought” revives the Earth’s destroyed biosphere in the most poetic of ways. Agnieszka Polska’s point of departure is the “happiest thought” of the physicist Albert Einstein, what he later called the fundamental thought that inspired him to formulate his general theory of relativity in 1915, which understands space and time as dynamic entities. Sung by the US-American performance artist Geo Wyeth, the text becomes part of a hypnotically enchanting séance.

SANDRINE DEUMIER Y MYRIAM BLEAU present REALNESS

Realness is an audiovisual project created by digital artist Sandrine Deumier and composer Myriam Bleau, a reflection on the potential symbiosis between human beings and a state of rediscovered vegetal nature, an opportunity to experiment with non-human life forms. One of the winning projects of the MIRA x Hangar open call.

V.P.M. presents XPANSION

Xpansion is a project based on the theory of the expansion of the universe as an echo of the Big Bang, an audiovisual installation in 360º that aims to address the difficulty of visualising the forces that sustain and expand the universe, space and dark energy. One of the winning projects of the MIRA x Hangar open call.
