Inspiria

Inspiria immerses us in the world of shared breathing. The performers move between meditative breathing, hyperventilation, and breath retention, existing between the physical space and a reactive 3D ecosystem that responds to their breathing in real time.

Working with the word “Inspirare,” a Latin term meaning “to breathe in,” or, metaphorically, “to ignite the spark of creation,” the work explores the principles of mutual perception, co-regulation, and participation with the world. The choreography, featuring guest dancers, draws inspiration from Japanese Butoh dance techniques, physical theatre, and breathwork practices, with the aim of reaching a state of deep focus and concentration.

Inspiria is a performance created by Alberto Benavent, Andrea Naharro, Lerie Pemanagpo, and Lizzie Keigler, students of the Master’s Degree in Digital Arts and Creative Technologies at La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull.

Mentors: Daniel Sabio (AKA The Glad Scientist), Xavi Maixenchs, Tatiana Halbach, and Søren Christensen (Desilence).
